Shafick Adams, Commissioner of the Presidential Climate Commission

Shafick Adams is the executive manager of the Water Research Commission and a Commissioner of the Presidential Climate Commission,
He taught at the University of the Western Cape (UWC), where he earned his doctorate.
He is a registered Natural Scientist, Senior Fellow of the South African Water Institute, and Fellow of the South African Geological Society.

  

Cas Coovadia, CEO of Business Unity of South Africa

Cas Coovadia is the CEO of Business Unity South Africa (BUSA). For two decades he was the managing director of the Banking Association of South Africa (BASA).
Coovadia has a Bachelor of Commerce from University College – Durban.

  

Tsakani Ernica Furumele, Director: Communicable Disease Control, National Department of Health

Tsakani Ernica Furumele is the director for Communicable Disease Control under the National Department of Health.
She joined the Limpopo Health Department in 1996 and worked in many roles in the provincial and national health sectors.
She has a BSc in Medical Laboratory Science and a Master of Science in Zoology – Medical Entomology from the University of Limpopo (Turfloop) and a Master of Public Health (MPH) from the University of Pretoria.

  

Martin Kingston, Chair of Steering Committee of Business for South Africa (B4SA).

Martin has over 40 years of experience in the financial services industry and held many leadership positions in business. He is also currently the chair of the Resource Mobilisation Fund and a board member of the Localisation Support Fund. He is the executive chair of Rothschild and Co SA since 2007.

  

Zingiswa Losi, Cosatu president

Zingiswa Phyllis Losi is the president of the Congress of South African Trade Unions (Cosatu). She was the second vice president of Cosatu from 2009 to 2018.
She is a member of the South African Communist Party’s (SACP) Central Committee and a former member of the National Executive Committee of the African National Congress (ANC).
Losi served in the SANDF for three years.

  

Duncan Luvuno, NUM national chairperson Health and Safety and 2nd Cosatu deputy president

Duncan Luvuno is the National Union of Mineworkers’ (NUM) Health and Safety Chair and the second deputy president of the Congress of South African Trade Unions (Cosatu).
He currently serves in the Rand Mutual Assurance Board as Non-Executive Director and RMA Investment Committee member. Tshiamiso Trust Advisory Committee Chairperson and MBOD/CCOD Advisor Committee Member

  

Deputy President Paul Mashatile

Deputy President Paul Mashatile has held numerous leadership positions in government and the African National Congress (ANC). The government positions include the Gauteng premiership and Minister for Arts and Culture.
Mashatile has a postgraduate diploma in Economic Principles from the University of London.

  

Mxolisi Mgojo, director of Talent10 Holdings Group

Mxolisi Mgojo is a director of Talent10 Holdings Group and the Institute for Committed Action. Previously, he was the CEO of Exxaro Resources Limited and President of the Minerals Council of South Africa.
He was a software engineer for 10 years and spent eight years in the finance industry. He has 21 years experience in the mining industry.
Mgojo holds a BSc Computer Science from US-based Northeastern University, a BSc Energy Studies from Rand Afrikaans University, and an MBA from Henley Management College, UK.

  

Boitumelo Pinky Moloi, Deputy Minister of Employment and Labour

Boitumelo Elizabeth Moloi has been deputy minister of the Department of Employment and Labour since 2019.
Previously, she was Executive Mayor of the Dr Kenneth Kaunda District Municipality and a member of the South African Local Government Association’s (SALGA) National Executive.

  

Nhlanhla Ndlovu, member of the Executive Council of the National Economic Development and Labour Council

Nhlanhla Ndlovu is a member of the National Skills Authority and the National Economic Development and Labour Council (Nedlac) Executive Council.
He is the CEO – Nedlac Community Trust.
Previously, he was the Director of the Rural Development Services Network and Senior Programme Manager for the National Youth Service Programme.
He has a BA in Administration and a Master of Arts in Social Policy.

  

Minister of Employment and Labour Thulas Nxesi

Thembelani Thulas Nxesi is the Minister of Employment and Labour since 2019. Before that he was Minister of Public Works and Sports and Recreation
He was the secretary general of the South African Teacher’s Union (SADTU) from 1994 to 2010, and a senior leader in the South African Communist Party (SACP).
He holds a Bachelor of Arts from Fort Hare University, a Bachelor of Education from the University of the Witwatersrand, and a Higher Diploma in Education from the University of South Africa (UNISA).

  

Viviene Pearson, CEO of South African Insurance Association (SAIA)

Viviene Pearson is the CEO of the South African Insurance Association (SAIA)
Pearson also serves on the boards of Inseta, the Ombudsman for Short-term Insurance, the Financial Sector Transformation Council and as executive director on the SAIA Board.
Her qualifications include BA Communications and BA Honours degrees (RAU) in Communications and Political Science.

  

Lisa Seftel, Executive Director At Nedlac

Lisa Seftel is the Nedlac’s executive director. Before joining Nedlac, she held the positions of executive director of Transport for the City of Johannesburg, municipal manager for the Sedibeng District, Chief Director of Policy for the Gauteng Office of the Premier, and executive manager of Labour Relations for the Department of Labour.
She holds a Master of Science in Management from the Wits School of Governance.

  

Dr Imtiaz Sooliman, Gift of the Givers founder

Dr Imtiaz Sooliman is the Chairman and Founder of the Gift of the Givers Foundation.
The Gift of the Givers has developed into one of the most respected international humanitarian organisations.
It provides disaster relief, primary healthcare clinics, feeding schemes, water purification and water wells; distributes new blankets, clothing and food parcels; etc.
All of these would not be possible without the dedication, energy and leadership of  Sooliman.
He graduated from UKZN’s Medical School in 1984.

  

Thulani Tshefuta

Thulani Tshefuta is the Overall Convenor of the civil society component at Nedlac, the Community Constituency.
He has a postgraduate diploma in Governance from Wits University.
He also has a postgraduate diploma from Crummer Graduate School of Business at Rollins University, Florida, (USA).
He serves in boards of various organisations, including the Presidential BBBEE Council and Proudly South African.

  

Gerald Twala, Cosatu Deputy General Secretary

of the Congress of South African Trade Unions (COSATU) He has worked in various positions within the trade union movement and also worked in the Greater Tzaneen Municipality (Limpopo). He has a teaching diploma from Tivumbeni College of Education (Tzaneen) and completed the NQF 6 Specialist Local Government Programme with the Durban University of Technology (DUT).
